The ConsultationYou will be asked to complete a fairly comprehensive health questionaire and three-day food diary before your first visit. The consultation lasts between an hour and an hour and a half, reviewing your medical and family history, your lifestyle, and your present diet and eating patterns. Your nutrition consultant assesses your current health status, correlates this with a dietary analysis, then develops a specific treatment plan for you to follow. It will probably mean a few changes to your diet - either adding or eliminating certain foods, or both - and, if appropriate, nutritional supplements may be recommended. In some cases laboratory (diagnostic) tests may also be advised. We suggest follow-up consultations, at two to four week intervals, and lasting 30-40 minutes; this enables us to monitor your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment. |
